TRP1 Antibody (G-9)

Cat. No.: SPOOMO00029
The TRP1 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ antibody that detects the TRP1 protein from mouse, rat, and human sources using WB, IP, IF, IHC(P), and ELISA methods. TRP1, also known as CAS2, TYRP1, Catalase B, or DHICA oxidase, is involved in melanin biosynthesis, crucial for pigmentation in vertebrates. Tyrosinase (TYR), another key enzyme, catalyzes the initial step of melanin production by hydroxylating tyrosine. Mutations affecting TYR activity lead to various forms of albinism. In melanocytes, TYR-related proteins TRP1 and TRP2 are expressed and contribute to melanin synthesis within melanosomes. These proteins share similarities such as a transmembrane domain, two metal-binding regions, and a cysteine-rich epidermal growth factor motif. However, they exhibit distinct enzymatic activities critical for melanin polymerization. TRP1 aids in stabilizing TYR, suggesting they may function together in a multi-enzyme complex within melanosomal membranes. Overall, TRP1 Antibody (G-9

Overall, TRP1 Antibody (G-9) targets TRP1 across species and is utilized in various experimental techniques to study its role in melanin biosynthesis and melanocyte function.
Application: TRP1 (G-9) is recommended for detection of TRP1 of mouse, rat and human origin by Western Blotting (starting dilution 1:100, dilution range 1:100- 1:1000), immunoprecipitation [1-2 µg per 100-500 µg of total protein (1 mL of cell lysate)], immunofluorescence (starting dilution 1:50, dilution range 1:50-1:500), immunohistochemistry (including paraffin-embedded sections) (starting dilution 1:50, dilution range 1:50-1:500) and solid phase ELISA (starting dilution 1:30, dilution range 1:30-1:3000).
Storage: Store at 4°C. DO NOT FREEZE. Stable for one year from the date of shipment. Non-hazardous. No MSDS required.
Molecular Weight: 70-90 kDa
Antibody Source: TRP1 (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal antibody raised against amino acids 448-537 of TRP1 of human origin.
