Background: |
TNF-alpha is a cytokine with multifaceted roles in immunomodulation, anti-tumor response, and toxicity. It is implicated in various inflammatory conditions and plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of septic shock. TNF-alpha is detected in inflammatory sites such as synovial effusions in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic circulation during septic shock, parasitemia, and rejection episodes in renal transplants. The antibody reacts with both natural and recombinant forms of TNF-alpha in rats and mice, recognizing membrane-bound and receptor-bound TNF-alpha. Additionally, the antibody exhibits neutralizing activity against TNF-alpha. |
