1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
Synonyms: Fibrocyte-derived Protein, Melanoma Inhibitory Activity-like Protein
Background: OTOR, also known as Otoraplin and MIAL, is a 15 kDa disulfide-bonded homodimer secreted via the Golgi apparatus. It belongs to the MIA/OTOR family, characterized by a Src homology-3 (SH3)-like domain. OTOR is predominantly expressed in the cochlea of the inner ear and plays a role in the early chondrogenesis of the otic capsule. This function is crucial for normal development of the inner ear and auditory function. OTOR shares significant sequence identity with orthologs in mice (90%), chicken (80%), and bullfrog (60%), as well as with the related human CDRAP/MIA protein (43%).
