| Background: |
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a cytokine that undergoes phosphorylation and glycosylation variations. Produced by T cells and macrophages, it plays a vital role in triggering immune responses during infections and following injuries like burns, which induce inflammation. Interestingly, IL-6 also possesses anti-inflammatory properties. Recombinant canine IL-6, with a His-tag fused at the C-terminus, was produced in insect cells and purified using conventional chromatography methods. |
